John D. Fouts, 76, of 9057 Pleasant Hill Rd., Dundee, Ohio died Friday, April 20, 2007 in Aultman Hospital at Canton following a brief illness.
John retired from OSHA in Canton and had previously worked for Epic in Dover and the Warner & Swasey Company in New Philadelphia for 22 years.
Born September 18, 1930 in Newport, Ohio, the son of the late Clyde and Lena Long Fouts.
He was the pastor of Full Gospel Tabernacle in New Philadelphia for thirty six years. He was a graduate of Uhrichsville High School and attended Lee College in Cleveland, Tennessee. He also received numerous certifications in environment and safety. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed the outdoors and birdwatching. He also loved woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret “Maxine” Fouts who died February 4, 1997. He was also preceded by a daughter, Linda Diane Fouts, a brother, Joe Fouts a daughter in law, Karen Fouts and a sister in law, Norma Fouts.
John is survived by his wife, Blanche Thomas Fouts with whom he would have celebrated ten years of marriage this September 18. He is also survived by four children, Pam (Mike) Bolinsky of New Philadelphia, John (Tamara) Fouts of Strasburg, Sue Ann Fouts and Dale (Connie) Fouts both of Dover; four stepchildren, Rocky (Vickie) Thomas of Dundee, Joyce (Duane) Humrichouser of Dundee, Jody (Louis) Russell of Bethel, New York, and John “Jack” (Rhonda) Thomas of Beach City; two brothers, Frank Fouts of Newport and Clyde (Louise) Fouts of New Philadelphia, sister in law, Peggy Fouts of New Philadelphia along with five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, twelve stepgrandchildren, six step great grandchildren.
A funeral service celebrating John�(TM)s life will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at 1pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover with Evangelist Henry Mooney officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8pm.
