John E. Garver, 74, of 805 West High Ave, in New Philadelphia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at Amberwood Manor Nursing Home following a short illness.
John was the son of the late Doran and Emma (Shearer) Garver of Ragersville. He was born on June 27, 1946. He graduated from Garaway High School with the class of 1966.
He is survived by his wife, Monna (Strawn) Garver of almost 49 years of marriage. He is also survived by his daughter, Wendy Garver of New Philadelphia, and his son, Dean Garver of South Carolina.
John worked at Alsco in Sugarcreek, Quaker Radio & TV in New Philadelphia, CPC in Massillon as an electrical technician for 20 years. He enjoyed giving tours at Ragersville Museum and was a member of the Andy Griffith Club.
Friends are invited to gather on Friday, April 2, 2021, from 10:30-11:30 am at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. A celebration of John’s life will take place at 11:30 am on Friday with Pastor David Millard officiating. Following the service, cremation will take place and burial will be held at Ragersville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to the Community Hospice Truman House, 716 Commercial Ave SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
