John F. Nemetz, 91, of Dover, Ohio died Saturday, September 1, 2007 in the Park Village Health Care Center following a brief illness.
John was born February 9, 1916 in Lafferty, Ohio, the son of the late Jacob and Anna (Wadella) Nemetz.
He was a member of St. Paul�(TM)s Community Church in Mineral City. A 1934 graduate of Mineral City High School, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking and was an avid sports enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene M. Brinkman Nemetz who died September 24, 2002.
John is survived by three children Jack (Suzanne) Nemetz of Dover, Sandra (Larry) Horstman of Bolivar and Dean (Tonya) Nemetz of Columbus; three grandchildren, Lisa (John) Walsh of Bolivar, Scott Nemetz of Atlanta, Georgia, and Larry Horstman of Bolivar; four great grandchildren, Nicholas and Evan Walsh and Derek and Mariah Horstman; two sisters, Lucille Pucciahrilli of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Nell Tressel of New Cumberland.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Stella Nemetz and Mary Damiano.
A funeral service celebrating John�(TM)s life will be Wednesday, September 5. 2007 at 2:30pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover with Pastor W. Jay Dolvin officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8pm.
