John G. Wissman, 63, of New Philadelphia died Tuesday, November 18, 2014 following injuries sustained in a tractor trailer accident.
Born January 12, 1951 in Cleveland he was a son of the late Russell and Geraldine Pace Wissman.
John was employed at Scenic Wood Products in Sugarcreek for over 10 years as a truck driver. He was a member of Word of Life Church at New Philadelphia where he served as a Deacon and board member, and loved working in the church's food pantry. His other passion was being at Midvale Speedway, where he was a fan first and foremost, then a driver, owner and sponsor. John was a caring man to all that crossed his path. He loved his Lord first, family second, then his friends and was appreciative of the things God blessed him with.
As John ascends to a higher place, he will be patiently awaiting the arrival of his lovely wife Patty Egler Wissman; children, Thereasa (Earl) Scranton, Kelly (Brenda) Wissman, Curtis (Julie) Stull, Hope (George) Lillie, John (Kristina) Wissman, Bruce Stull and Margaret Wissman; brothers, Larry and Bill Wissman; sisters, Peggy (Jim) Steele and Diane Swogger; 20 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his pal, Goliath.
