John Galen Cline, 88, of Massillon and formerly a resident of Bolivar, died Sunday, September 17, 2000 in the Country Lawn Nursing Home at Navarre.
He was a retired dairy farmer.
Born June 8, 1912 at Fresno, Ohio, he was a son of the late Alvin & Catherine Haas Cline.
John was a well-decorated Army veteran who served in World War II. He was a member of the 305th Medical Battalion, 80th infantry and served under General Patton. He was a life member of VFW Post 5047 at Navarre. John was also a member of the First Lutheran Church at Strasburg and was a member of AARP #3306.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Ross Cline.
Also surviving are: two sons, Al & Natalie Cline of N. Canton, Chuck & Treva Cline of Alliance, and six grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John G. Cline II, four brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held, Thursday, September 21, at 11:00am in Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Strasburg, with Pastor Fred Grosse officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8pm, and one hour prior to services on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Lutheran Church of Strasburg.
