John Menapace, age 93, of Uhrichsville, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021, in Uhrichsville’s Claymont Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Born March 16, 1928, he was a son of the late Carlos and Maria Anselmi Menapace. John attended high school in Dennison, and went on to serve honorably in the United States Army. Following his discharge, he was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad, U.S. Concrete, Uhrichsville, and Truck Sales & Service, of Midvale, from which he retired.
John was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Knights of Columbus and the American Italian Club, all of Dennison, and the Elks Lodge of Uhrichsville.
He is survived by his children, John, Rick and Randy Menapace, Brenda (Mark) Cuevas, and William Menapace; his grandchildren, Luke, Adam, Jonathan, Rebecca, Caitlin and Anastasia; his two great-grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his siblings, Bruno and Rudy Menapace, and Mary Maniscalco.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, on Thursday, September 9, 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Services will be Friday, September 10, at 1:30 p.m., in the funeral home; Chaplain Mark Cuevas, John’s son-in-law, will officiate.
