John Nicholas Contini, 85, of Dover, died Wednesday, October 26, 2000 in his home.
He was retired from the Union Camp Corporation.
Born June 20, 1915 at Dover, he was a son of the late Nicholas & Mary Leonardo DePallo Contini.
John was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover, the Dover Elks Club, AARP and the National Woodcarvers Association. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. John had also been a standout football player for Dover High School.
He is survived by his wife, LaVerne N. Bair Contini, with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage on April 26.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by brothers, Leonard, Rocco, Joseph & Orest, a sister, Florenece Contini Pace, son John Jr., step-mother Lucretia & granddaughter Angela.
A funeral mass will be held Monday at 10:30am in St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover on Sunday from 2-5pm with Christian Wake services being held at 4:30pm.
