John N. Sproul

John N. Sproul, 80, of 210 E. Iron Ave., Dover, Ohio died Saturday, February 12, 2000 at Union Hospital. He retired as Parts Mgr. For the former Mart Sand Pontiac in Dover and was a former employee of Chuck Nicholson GMC Pontiac in Dover. He also formerly worked for Horrisberger Pontiac in Dennison. Born July 31, 1919 in Uhrichsville, Ohio, he was the son of the late Charles and Eva Cappel Sproul. John was a member of the Sharon Moravian Church at Tuscarawas. He grew up as member of the Uhrichsville Presbyterian Church and was a former member of the First Moravian Church in Dover and the New Philadelphia Presbyterian Church. John was also a member of the New Philadelphia Masonic Lodge #177 for over 25 years, 50 year member of the Uhrichsville Elks Lodge, 1937 graduate of Uhrichsville High School, and served as a Staff/Sgt. In the US Army during World War II. He is survived by his wife Charlotte Kohr Sproul with whom he would have celebrated 49 years of marriage on August 4. One Son John F. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 2PM in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Michael Foran officiating. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery at Dover. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM where Masonic Services will be Thursday at 6:45 PM.
