John W. Cyphert Sr., 74, of Dover died Friday, October 20, 2000 at his residence following an extended illness.
He retired from Deibold Corp. in Canton after 15 years of service.
Born July 8, 1926 in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania he was a son of the late Paul and Lula O'Shield Cyphert.
He was a member of the Dover VFW and was a Navy Veteran of WW II.
John is survived by his wife Mildred Vandevort Cyphert with whom he celebrated 23 years of marriage on Janurary 21, 2000.
He is also survived by a son: John P. Cyphert of Massillon
Daughter: Rebecca Cyphert of Massillon
Three step-sons: Wayne and Leah Calton of Sugarcreek
Garry and Mollie Calton of Monclova, Ohio
Roger and Tammie Calton of Dayton
Two step-daughters: Coe Kelton of Tennessee
Patty Rufener of Ft. Myers Florida.
Sister: Elanor Miller of North Canton
11 step grandchildren and 9 step great grandchildren
He was also preceded in death by a brother and step grandson
Cremation has taken place. There are no calling hours. The family will be holding private services in the home later this week. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover is handling arrangements.
