John W. Dowdle

John W. Dowdle, age 57, of Uhrichsville, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2020, in W.V.U. Medicine Barnesville Hospital where he was taken after becoming ill.

Born September 17, 1962, in Webster Springs, West Virginia, he was the son of Donna Stephens Dowdle Criss and the late Carl Dowdle. John attended Barnesville High School and went on to serve in the United States Navy earning his G.E.D. certification. Following his discharge, he was employed as an electrical worker until his health no longer permitted him to do so. John was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing and music - especially playing the guitar.

He will be dearly missed by his mother, Donna; his wife, Samantha McEndree Dowdle, whom he married on May 19, 2007; his children, Tessa Heter, Tiffany Hay, Ashley, Wesley and April Dowdle, Danielle Weathers, Alysha Schick, Destiny and Gabrielle Dowdle; his grandchildren; his sisters, Carla Istenes, Shannon Norris, Darlene Dowdle and Betty Markovich; his nieces and nephews; his great-aunt, Barbara Elliott; and his aunts, uncles and cousins.

Family and friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, on Sunday, September 6, 2 - 4 p.m. A service, officiated by Pastor Kevin Anslow, will follow at 4.
