John Zaugg

John Zaugg, 89, of Dover died Saturday, December 21, 2013 at his home following a brief illness.

Born April 23, 1924 in Dundee he was a son of the late Fred and Mary Streit Zaugg. John was also preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Zaugg on April 14, 2006; son, John Charles Zaugg; brother, Fred Zaugg; sisters, Clara Kreis, Mary Andreas and Marguerite Kennedy.

John was a 1942 graduate of Dundee High School. Following his graduation, he proudly served his country in the 63rd Division with the US Army during WW II. After he returned from the war, he started his working career and finally retired in 1987 from US Ceramics after 35 years of service.

John is survived by his daughter, Leslie Zaugg Chase of Dover; grandchildren, Jonathan and Kimberly Chase; great granddaughter, Haylie Chase; twin sister, Hannah Nalbach of Massillon; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. Graveside services will be held in the spring. Those wishing to express their fondest memories of John may do so by visiting the on line obituaries link on the funeral homes website.
