Jon D. Salmen, 47, of Dover, Ohio died on Monday, April 27, 2020, after seven years of courageously battling numerous illnesses. Jon lost the battle but not without a fight.
He was born on August 2, 1972, he was the son of Vickie (Bill) Kohl of Dover and David (Linda) Salmen of Deerfield, Ohio.
Jon was a 1990 graduate of Dover High School, where he was involved in many sporting activities. Before the start of his illness in 2013, he was a plate burner at Union Metal Corporation in Canton, Ohio.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Isabel Reber-Salmen, whom he adorably nicknamed his little Buzz Buzz, along with several step-brothers and sisters, and numerous relatives.
Jon was an avid sports fan, but nothing was more important than watching his Alabama Crimson Tide football games. He was their number one fan.
Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents; Warren and Betty Dorsey, and paternal grandparents, William and Mary Jane Salmen, and his uncle Vince Dorsey.
Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. Due to the Covid-19, there will be no calling hours. A memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
