Jon-Paul Lee "JP" DeBois, 36, of Dover died early Sunday morning, Dec. 2, 2012 in his home lovingly surrounded by his family following an extended illness.
JP was a sales and marketing specialist having previously worked for SYSCO Foods.
Born July 9, 1976 in Canton, he was the son of Jerry DeBois of Dover and Toni (Davis) DeBois of Columbus.
"JP" was a lifelong member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover where he previously served as an Altar Boy for several years. After graduating from Dover High School in 1994, he served his country in the U.S. Navy from 2003-2007. Over his lifetime, "JP" was often seen with either a paint brush or camera in his hand having enjoyed both photography and painting. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and positive outlook on life.
In addition to his parents, "JP" will be sadly missed by his family including two sisters, Chantelle Renee (Jake) Hawk and Jaime Lyn DeBois both of Columbus; his maternal grandmother, Margaret Cugliari of Dover; aunts and uncles, Steve (Mary) DeBois , Diane (Mike) Clugston and Michael DeBois all of Dover, Lisa (John) Fenton of Chicago, Ill., Chrissie (Chris) Hensel of Strasburg, Bruce Davis of Canton and Amy (Don) May of New Philadelphia and his beloved canine companion, "Dick" along with a large and loving extended family.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Pauline Davis, his paternal grandfather, Paul DeBois and his step grandfather, Rick Cugliari along with a cousin, Megan Fenton.
Jon-Paul's life will be celebrated during his Rite of Christian Burial on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 beginning at 11am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. Matt Hoover officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Tuesday from 4-8pm followed by a Christian Wake and a "Time of Sharing" beginning at 8pm at the funeral home.
