February 25, 1917 — June 20, 2005

Jordan “Pie” Tamborini, 88, a Dover resident for the last 46 years, died peacefully in his home on Monday, June 20, 2005.

Born February 25, 1917 at Wainwright, he was the son of the late Enrico & Agnes Norcini Tamborini.

He had worked as Service Manager for twenty years at the former Brinkers Supply Company of Dover, and retired as a Diesel Mechanic from Mid State after another twenty years of service.

Pie served four and a half years with the 7th Corp Army in graves registration, serving his country honorably during World War II. He was involved in D-day and the invasion of Utah Beachhead. He went on serving tours in Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe and, among other honors, was awarded the Bronze Star.

A faithful member of St. Joseph Church in Dover, he was also active with the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed volunteering at church festivals and functions. He was a member of the Dover VFW and also took great interest in the local political scene.

He was an avid card player and could always be found at one of his favorite spots embroiled in a big game of jass or euchre with his card-playing buddies. Pie was also an avid gardener and took pride in his wide variety of roses as well as the vegetables he raised like his prized tomatoes.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend " Pie will be missed by many.

He will be missed most by the love of his life and wife of 57 years, Anna Berlendis Tamborini, whom he wed on July 12, 1947.

Other surviving family members include: his three daughters of whom he was so proud, Susan and George Donovan of Washington D.C., Lori and Thomas Stan of Akron, and Monica and Richard Gabriel of Swampscott, Mass; two grandsons, Joshua Stan of Akron and Aaron Gabriel of Swampscott, Mass; a granddaughter, Sydney Stan of Akron; his sister, Thelma Lanz of Toledo; sisters-in-law, Jean Cardani and Jerry Berlendis, both of Wainwright; nephew, Tony Tamborini of Wake Forest, NC; and four nieces, Mary Cardani of Wainwright, Beth Cardani of New Phila., Robin Lanz and Marissa Lanz Herrington, both of Toledo.

In addition to his parents, Pie was preceded in death by a brother, Carl and a sister, Delma.

Pie(TM)s life will be celebrated in a funeral mass held on Friday, June 24, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating.
