Joshua G. Rogers, 43, of Dover left this world suddenly on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at his home. 

Born on May 27, 1981 in Dover he was a son of William (Ruth Ann) Rogers of New Philadelphia and Deanna Hess Welling of Dover.

Joshua, a 1999 graduate of Tuscarawas Central Catholic High School, was known for his educational excellence, having graduated with honors. He was also a member of the First Christian Church in Dover. Joshua had a rich inner life that was reflected in his passions. He loved music and was an exceptional writer of poetry and compositions, translating his thoughts and emotions into beautiful art. An avid sportsman, he excelled in Mixed Martial Arts and was recognized as a state judo champion three times. His love for the outdoors was evident in his enthusiasm for hunting.

In addition to his parents, he is also survived by his son, Matthew Blakely of Dover; daughter, Destiny McClain of Uhrichsville; sister, Billie Jo (Jeremy) McCune of Dover; niece, Alisha (Anthony) Toia; and nephew, Brennan McCune.

Joshua was also preceded in death by his step-father, Bob Welling.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover.  A celebration of Joshua's life will be held on Thursday, October 10th starting at 11:00 am in the First Christian Church, Dover with Josh Robinson officiating.  The family will be greeting friends at the church on Thursday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
