Joy A. Lorenz, 71, of Dover, Ohio and formerly of Dundee died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015 in the Hennis Care Centre following an extended illness.
She was a certified nurse's assistant in County Memorial Hospital in Coshocton and several area nursing facilities.
Born August 26, 1944 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Delbert and Ruth (Dickinson) Day.
Joy attended the Church of New Hope in Dover. She was also a member of the Dover VFW Auxiliary and the Tuscarawas Senior Center. She loved cooking, gardening, sewing, and baking for her family as well as bow hunting in her earlier years.
She will be sadly missed by her family including her three children, Michael (Anita) Watson of Akron, Roberta Nelisse of Austintown, and Connie (Khalid) Abdelhaq of Ware Shoals, South Carolina; three sisters including her twin sister Joyce Engstrom of Tuscarawas, Janet Miller of New Philadelphia and Kay (David) Maurer of Dundee and a brother, James (Kathy) Day of New Philadelphia along with five grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Kathryn and Brenda Watson.
Pastor Dan Legg will officiate graveside services on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015 beginning at 1pm in the Dundee Cemetery in Dundee. There are no calling hours.
