Joyce M. Murray

Joyce M. Murray, 78, of Dover passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 in the Community Hospice Truman House.

Born July 18, 1945 in Hohenwald, Tennessee she was a daughter of the late Howard and Mary Bullion Vaughn.  Joyce was also preceded in death by her sister, Helen Vaughn.

She had been employed at Head Start in Dover for many years as a bus aide, and attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints also in Dover.  Joyce enjoyed being around the children at Head Start, and in her spare time, she loved going on walks with her son, John.

Joyce is survived by her children, Diane Ketchum of Martins Ferry, Jeff (Melissa Tice) Murray of Dundee, John (Kiris) Murray of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Rosemary, Nathaniel and Matthew Ketchum, Jennifer (Mark) Hudechek, Brayden, Emily and Ethan Murray and Gage; great grandchildren, Jacob Reynolds, Autumn and Lillian Wood and Kaiden Hudechek.

Per Joyce’s wishes, cremation will be entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover.  There will be no services or calling hours.
