Juan Jeremías Sánchez Chel, age 20, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 22, 2019, from cancer that, unbeknownst to him and his family, had invaded his body.

The Guatemalan community is grieving the tragic loss of a young man who came to the United States in search of a better life. Juan Jeremías's father, Daniel, and his step-mother, Isabel, wish to return his body to his native Guatemala where Juan Jeremías' mother resides.

As in all times of difficulty, members of the community and local churches are working together to help meet the needs of the bereaved family. The monetary goal is to raise the $9,000 needed to transport Juan Jeremías to his final resting place in Nebaj.
