Juanita Howell

Juanita "Jean" Howell, 77, of 1216 Walnut St., Dover, died Wednesday, December 15, 1999 at Union Hospital following a brief illness. She was an employee of the former Stallard's IGA at Dover and the Reeves Bank in Dover. Born July 23, 1922 in Dennison, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Martin & Emma Huston. She was a member of the First Moravian Church at Dover, and a 1940 graduate of Dennison High School. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was a friend to all who knew her. Jean is survived by her husband Roy D. "Toady" Howell with whom she celebrated 58 years of marriage on Novemeber 15. She is also survived by two daughters Linda (Delbert) Ashkettle of Cadiz and Juanita (Bill) Uebel of Dover. Five grandchildren: Jeff (Tammy) Ashkettle of Cadiz, Rick (Becky) Ashkettle of Pittsburgh, Pa., Mindy (Eric) Hilling of Parkersburg, WV, Melissa (John) Kyler of Okinawa, and Paula (Chris) Hale of Columbus and seven great grandchildren. Three brothers Tom and Jack Carrothers, both of Aurora, OH and Joe Carrothers of Asheville, NC and her loving companion, Cricket, her poodle. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11am in Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover with Rev. Allen Bergmann officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5-8pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Moravian Church at Dover, or to the Tuscarawas County Chapter of the American Heart Association.
