Judith Anne Fisher, age 75, of Quitman, Arkansas, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, April 25, 2016, while visiting her sister in St. Augustine, Florida.
Born April 25, 1941, in Dover, she was a daughter of the late Herman W. and Edythe G. Riggle Booth. Judy, as she was often called, graduated from Dover High School, and went on to The Ohio State University, where she majored in music education and music performance (clarinet) often performing as a soloist with The OSU Concert Band. She married Walter E. "Skip" Fisher Jr. on March 18, 1962. In addition to teaching with the Niagara Falls schools, she was soloist and concertmistress with the St. Catharine's Concert Band of Canada.
Judy and Skip loved to travel, having visited all of the states in the Union, all of the Canadian provinces, all of the Mexican states, as well as Europe and the Caribbean. For the past twenty-one years, Judy has resided in Quitman in the home that she and Skip built overlooking Greers Ferry Lake and the Ozark Mountains.
Survivors include her sister, Donna M. Raynes of St. Augustine; her brother, David H. (Georgia) Booth of Niagara Falls, New York, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her beloved Skip on July 19, 2011; and her brother, Herbert O. Booth.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Monday, May 2, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11:30, officiated by Judy's brother-in-law, Rev. Stephen M. Fisher, retired pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Madison, Ohio. Burial will be in Dover Burial Park. Following the committal, there will be a luncheon in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover.
