Judy A. Moder, 83, of Dover passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born on October 10, 1938, in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Hazel (Haynes) Lynch. She married Gerald P. “Jerry” Moder on August 4, 1962. Jerry preceded her in death on November 7, 2019. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jodi Mamarella, and brothers, David and Dennis Lynch.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Dover. Nothing was more important to Judy than her family. Whether it was a camping or fishing trip with Jerry, sharing a glass of wine with her children, or spending time with her grandchildren, she cherished it all. On a Sunday afternoon in the summer and fall, you could often find her glued to her chair taking in the final round of a PGA golf event or watching the Cleveland Browns. Her home was a place of comfort for her entire family. It was full of toys and games that she played with her grandchildren. Her large dinner table was the site of not only her famous Swiss steak dinners, but also lively conversation with her family, often led by great “fish stories” from her husband Jerry. Judy was especially proud to welcome two great grandchildren into her home over the past few years, where they played with the same toys as their father, uncles, and cousins did many years ago. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends, but they are also at peace knowing she will be reunited with Jerry and her daughter Jodi.
She leaves behind her two children; Jeff (Leslie) Moder of Strongsville, and Jill (John) Fearon of Powell; son-in-law, Mickey Mamarella; along with her beloved grandchildren, Marcus (Taylor) Mamarella, Mason and Merrick Mamarella, Nathan and Halle Moder, and Macy and Keegan Fearon; and two great-grandsons, Max and James Mamarella.
