June C. Huprich, 84, of Dover died Monday, March 12, 2018 in the Community Hospice Truman House.
Born June 12, 1933 in Canton, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Walter Sr. and Evelyn Miller Trachsel. June was also preceded in death by her husband, Gene C. Huprich on January 20, 2018; son Robert Huprich and brother, Walter Trachsel Jr.
June was a 1951 graduate of Midvale High school where she was the Valedictorian of her class. She was employed at the Central Collection Agency in Dover, Unioncamp and finally retired from the Dover Tank and Plate Company. June was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and was a founding member of the St. Joseph Seniors having served as a Board Member and secretary. She was the secretary of St. Joseph Parish Council, and was the first in-school secretary of St. Joseph Elementary School, member of the Dover Chapter #539 Women of the Moose where she earned the Academy of Friendship, Star Recorder and College of Regents Degrees within the Moose. June was a member of the Strasburg Chapter #4358 AARP and served as President, Treasurer and member of the board. She was the Treasurer of Sugarcreek Christian Women, was one of the first volunteers at the former Hospice of Tuscarawas County, volunteered at Hennis Care Centre and was a longtime Avon Representative. June enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling, crocheting, and most of all, entertaining her grandchildren.
A wonderful and loving mother and grandmother, June will be missed by her children, Diane Simmons of Beach City, Debra Huprich and David (Raven) Huprich both of Strasburg, Denise Huprich of Dover, Richard (Sherrlye) Huprich of New Philadelphia; along with seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of June’s life will take place in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 1:00 pm with Father Jimmy Hatfield officiating. Interment will take place in the St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 11:00 am until the service starts at 1:00 pm.
