June E. Schmidt

June Elizabeth Schmidt, 79, of Strasburg, died Monday, January 22, 2001, in Union Hospital.

Born September 18, 1920 at New Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late David & Florence Watkins Sherer.

June attended Trinity Gospel Temple in Canton. She was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star #222 at New Phila., was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and had helped set-up the constitution for the Dover Jaycees.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Bruce Hardesty, who died in 1958, and Frank Schmidt who passed away in 1986.

In addition to her parents and husbands, June was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Dempsey, four brothers, Willard, John, Max & Robert Watkins and two sisters, Opal Krantz & Alice Lentz.

There are no calling hours. Cremation will take place and a graveside service will be held Friday, January 26, at 10:30am in the Dover Burial Park with Pastor Randy Pipes officiating.
