Karen G. Eichel, 78, of New Philadelphia died Friday, December 25, 2020, as she finally got to spend Christmas in Heaven with her entire family.
She was born on July 2, 1942 in Cadiz and was the daughter of the late George and Wilma Green. Karen was also preceded in death by her husband, James R. “Jimmy” Eichel on December 6, 2020; son, James “Chip” Eichel; daughter, Kellie Eichel; granddaughter, Cassidy Eichel, and step-father, Howard Pfeiffer
She was a member of the South Broadway United Methodist Church, and in her spare time she enjoyed dog training and was a talented seamstress. But her passion was horseback riding and golf, both activities she loved from an early age up until a few years ago.
Karen is survived by her brother in law, John (Cheryl) Eichel and sister in law, Shirley Eichel both of Dover; five grandchildren, Kyle, Joey and Gaby Eichel, and Ben and Sam Shaffer; step grandchildren, Ty Taylor, Erin Landis; step great grandchildren, Jaiden, Ryker, Eliana; daughter in law, Teri Eichel of New Philadelphia and her niece and nephews, Lonnie and Shawn Eichel, Ashley Noretto, and her special friend, Ann Ress.
Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A private memorial service, and burial of ashes for both Karen, and Jimmy will be held at a later date.
