Karen K. Collins, 54, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully Monday, March 15, 2004 in her home.
She had most recently worked as a nurse(TM)s aide with the Park Village Health Care Center but spent the nearly 20 years before that working independently as a home health care provider. Her passion for her work and the love she showed for others was obvious as over the years she formed strong bonds both with the individuals she cared for and their families.
Born July 12, 1949 at Dennison, she was the daughter of the late William B. and Ann Yuhos Feister.
Karen was a member of the 11th Street Church of God at Uhrichsville.
She loved spending time with her family and was especially proud of her five grandchildren with whom she made sure that each one knew just how much they meant to her.
On April 24, 1971, Karen married her loving husband, Terry L. Collins, who survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Lisa (Wendell) Mullins of Somerdale and Sherry (Shane) Holdsworth of New Philadelphia; two brothers, David Feister of Ft. Worth, TX and Bruce (Judy) Feister of Midvale; two sisters, Charlotte (Chuck) Mahaffey of Midvale and Mary (James) Mahaffey of New Philadelphia; and her five precious grandchildren, Jessica, Kristen, Kaylee, Justine and Shane.
A funeral service celebrating Karen(TM)s life will be held Thursday, March 18 at 11:00 a.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, 246 East High Avenue, New Philadelphia, with Pastor Earl Miller officiating. Interment will be in the East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Following the burial, a reception will be held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard.
