Karen R. Smitley

Karen R. Smitley, age 54, of Strasburg, passed away Monday, August 10, 2020, in her home; Karen had battled multiple sclerosis for some time.

Born August 23, 1965, in Dover, she was a daughter of the late Harry W. and Reta J. Eash Smitley. Karen graduated from Massillon’s Perry High School in 1983, and was employed by MCA Sign Co. in Massillon. She enjoyed life and loved animals.

She is survived by her sisters, Cheryl (Steven) Bucksbarg, Holly (Clint) Houck and Londa (Dave) Hug, all of Canton, and Lori (John) Stickley of Salesville; and her niece and seven nephews.

There will be no visitation or funeral ceremony. Cremation is in the care of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. Burial will be with her parents in East Union Lawn Cemetery, Navarre.

The family suggests that contributions in Karen’s memory be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society - Ohio Buckeye, 6155 Rockside Rd., Ste. 202, Cleveland, Ohio 44131.
