Katherine "Katie" Beasley

Katherine "Katie" Beasley, 78, of Dover, Ohio died Sunday morning, February 17, 2008 in Park Village Health Care Center at Dover following an extended illness.

Born February 24, 1929 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Alva "Ching" and Florence (Krupp) Lieser.

Katie retired in May 1991 from Union Hospital in Dover following twenty six years as a medical transcriptionist.

She was a lifelong member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Dover where she was a former Sunday Schoolteacher. She was also a member of the Union Hospital Retirees. She loved flowers and gardening and enjoyed picking strawberries at Becker's where she was always the first person in and the last one out and was known to give more away than she kept. The most important thing in Katie's life were her children and grandchildren.

Katie is survived by her husband, Bob with whom she would have celebrated fifty eight years of marriage this March 26; She is also survived by four children, Tom and Debbie Beasley of Hubbard, Ohio, Sally and John Bender of Dover, Joe and Colleen Beasley of Mogadore, and Susan and Joe Sekely of Dover.

Ten grandchildren Sarah and Matt Benson, Rachel and Ricky Possert, Jen and Andy Brenneman, Betsy Bender, Katie Bender, Angela Murdock, Molly Beasley, Andy Beasley, Jill Calley and Sam Calley; five great grandchildren Sydney, Olivia, Emily, Jacob, and Evelyn. One brother Joe and Emo Lieser of Bluffton, South Carolina and a sister in law, Julia Lieser of Dover along with many nieces and nephews.


In addition to her parents, Katie was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and John Lieser and a nephew, Steven Lieser.

A funeral service celebrating Katie's life will be held Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 11am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 5-8pm.
