Katherine "Kitty" Kollar

Katherine “Kitty” Kollar, 82, of Dover died Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at New Dawn Health Care Center.

Born May 4, 1923 in Sugarcreek, Ohio she was a daughter of the late George and Cora Huffman Menges.

She was a 1941 graduate of Midvale High School and was a member of the DAV Auxiliary, Chapter 67 Tuscarawas County, New Philadelphia VFW Auxiliary and was inducted into the Dover-New Philadelphia Hall of Fame. She enjoyed ceramics, quilting and needle work.

Kitty is survived by her husband George “Fred” Kollar with whom she would have celebrated 64 years of marriage on November 7, 2006.

She is also survived by two daughters, Brenda (Stan) Schupbach of Dover and Rhonda (Allen) Glidden of Lexington, North Carolina; son, Brad (Sue) Kollar of Dover; brother, Dallas (Leslie) Menges of Worthington; seven grandchildren, Greg and Scott Jarvis, Tricia Bitikofer, Frank and Tim Glidden, Jennifer Swartzwelder and Kelly Smart; six great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 21, 2006 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover with Elder Glen Carlisle officiating. Interment will be in the mausoleum at Dover Burial Park. Following the entombment a reception will be held at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center.
