Kathleen Ann "Kathy" Huntsman

January 21, 1954 — December 15, 2021

Kathleen (Kathy) Ann Huntsman, 67, of Dover passed away at her home, on December 15, 2021, after a long battle with lung disease and a short battle with cancer.

Born in Canton, Ohio on January 21, 1954, Kathy was the daughter of the late L. Russell (Russ) Kiser and Grayce Kiser. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Roberta Cole.

Kathy graduated from Oakwood High School in 1972 and went on to get her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She was a Registered Nurse at Aultman Hospital for 23 years then moved to Georgia where she worked as an RN for 6 years. Upon returning to Ohio, she began working as a nurse for home health care until retirement.

Kathy was a fun-loving mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her daughters and with her grandchildren and cracking jokes with her many friends. With Kathy, there was always laughter and exciting stories to be told.
Kathy is survived by her three daughters, Melissa Lykins, Maureen “Mo” (and husband Jason) Downing, and Megan Huntsman. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Logan Downing, Mya Downing, Caleb (Kailyn) Downing, Madison Humphreys, Reagan Lykins, and Harper Lykins. Finally, Kathy is survived by her sisters Debi Kiser and Linda Grewell as well as several special friends, a niece, and nephews, and close cousins.

In keeping with Kathy’s wishes, there will be no immediate services, but a celebration of her life will be held on her birthday, January 21, 2022. Contact the family for more details. In lieu of flowers, fireworks are requested at her celebration, as anyone who knew Kathy knows that she wanted to go out with a bang!

The Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes & Crematory in Dover have been entrusted with arrangements. To sign an online guestbook for Kathy, visit the obituary link on the funeral home's website.
