Kathryn Haswell

Kathryn A. "Katie" Haswell, 88, of New Philadelphia and formerly of Strasburg died Saturday, October 4, 2008 following a ten year battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

Katie was a former employee of Hardesty Chemical Company in Dover.

Born February 24, 1920 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine "Grandma" Nuzzi Zifer.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dover and the Tuscarawas County Business and Professional Women. She enjoyed crocheting.

Katie was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Haswell who died May 12, 1995.

She is survived by a son, Jeff Zifer of Dover; one brother, Tony Zifer Jr. of Florida and a stepsister, Sue Haswell of Davie, Florida.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Hisrich.

Services will be held Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at 10:30am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 am.
