Kenneth A. "Kenny" Shonk

Kenneth A. “Kenny” Shonk, age 85, of Sherrodsville, and formerly of Strasburg, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020, in Aultman Compassionate Care Center, Canton, following a brief illness.

Born April 17, 1935, in Zoarville, he was a son of the late Edward and Elizabeth Blunt Shonk. Kenny attended school in Zoarville, and then went on to serve honorably with the United States Army. He married the former Jane Reed, who survives, on June 10, 1967. Kenny was a long-time employee of The Timken Company in Canton. He was a member of Canton’s Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Kenny enjoyed travel and country music.

In addition to his wife, Jane, he is survived by his daughters, Holly Jo (Jim) George of Sherrodsville, Carol Ann (Don) Wardell of Newcomerstown, and Kathy Jane (Mark) Grimm of Bergholz; his grandchildren; his great-grandchildren, including two who were very special to Kenny, Brandon Sizemore and Estellah Patterson; his sister, Pauline Cutshall; his sister-in-law, Helen Shonk; his cousins, Robert Shonk and Bertha Shull; and his nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Neill; and his brothers, Howard, Dwaine and Robert Shonk.
