Kenneth B. "Kenny" Trustdorf

March 16, 1948 — October 5, 2022

Kenneth B. “Kenny” Trustdorf, age 74, of Dover, went home to be with his first love - his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022, after a sudden, unexpected illness.

Born March 16, 1948, in Dover, he was the son of the late Marion and Phyllis (Rabe) Trustdorf. Kenny graduated from Dover High School in 1967, and soon after was employed by the Reeves Steel Co. in Dover until 1974, when he went to work for Babcock & Wilcox in Canton. In 1982, he was employed by Graphic Packaging, New Philadelphia, from which he retired in 2012.

Kenny was a man of great Christian faith and led his family by those principles. He attended several local churches over the years and grew to know many amazing people; wherever Kenny went, he was sure to know someone. He most recently attended Community Baptist Church in Dover.

He was not distracted by material things, but he was at his best when it came to getting at what really mattered. Kenny often gave anonymously as a blessing to those in need; he felt that that was more important than possessions or recognition. He also had a great sense of humor, and was a sweet, giving and soft-hearted man. His personal relationship with Jesus Christ was at the core of all of Kenny’s great qualities.

Kenny was a car buff who enjoyed races, going to car shows and reminiscing about “the good ol’ days.” He loved his family dearly and cherished time spent with them. He also loved “being his own boss” in his 10 years of retirement - being a “gad-about-town,” and spending his days however he wanted (Isn’t that what we all want?).

Kenny is survived by his two daughters, Tina Trustdorf and Tawnya Abel, both of Dover; his one and only precious grandchild, Caleb Abel, also of Dover; his sister, Brenda (Leonard) Crilow of Sugarcreek; his niece and nephew, Julie Crilow and A.J. (Lexi) Crilow, both of Canton; his great-nephews, Maddax and Colt; his former wife, Gloria Trustdorf; his former son-in-law, Mark Abel - as well as Mark’s children; his other more-extended family members; and his best friends, Chuck McBride and Grant Massey.

In keeping with Kenny’s wishes, he will be cremated, and his life will be celebrated in an intimate gathering of family and close friends. To sign an online guestbook and share a fond memory of Kenny, please visit the Obituaries link on the Toland-Herzig website.

The family suggests that, instead of flowers, contributions in Kenny’s memory be made to Community Baptist Church, 420 East Third St., Dover, OH 44622.
