Kenneth E. Roberts

Kenneth E. Roberts, 68, of New Philadelphia died Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in the Hennis Care Centre at Dover following a three month battle with brain cancer.

Born October 26, 1947 in East Liverpool he was the son of the late Edward and Mildred Kimble Roberts.

Ken graduated in 1965 from Stanton Local Schools, was a 1969 graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Geology and he also graduated from Kent State Tuscarawas with an Associate's Degree in Electronics. He was employed at Kent State Tuscarawas as an Electronics Technician having retired in 2009 after 25 years of service. Ken was an electronics genius who could fix just about anything with a chip board; he also enjoyed using his Ham Radio with the frequency, N8LMG. He collected antique radios and cars and loved wintering in Arizona, traveling in his RV with Danelle and their cat, Molly. While out west, Ken enjoyed traveling on Route 66 and looking for antique cars, especially Ford's from the 30's and 40's. He had a passion for steam powered trains and rode them all across the United States. Ken was a member of the Model A Club and the Early Ford V-8 Club.

Ken is survived by his wife, Danelle Fait Roberts with whom he celebrated 34 years of marriage on January 1, 2016. He is also survived by his sister, Linda (Ronald) Baker of Texas; niece, Amy (John) Baker-Kireev and many special friends.

A service celebrating Ken's life will be held on Monday, June 20 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Rev. Brian Flood officiating. Following the service, a luncheon will be held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends can call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Monday.
