Kenneth Earl Studer, 77, of New Philadelphia, Ohio passed away Monday, January 21, 2008 at home after a long illness surrounded by his family.
He was born July 25, 1930 in Columbia, Ohio and has resided in the area for most of his life.
Kenny attended Wooster Highway School and graduated from Dover High School in 1948. He was a member of St. Matthews Community Church near Mineral City and the Twin City Senior Citizens.
Kenny was employed by the City of Dover street department until his retirement in 1993. He could be found any given day walking in a new car lot or at a classic car show. He was an avid automobile enthusiast.
He is survived by his wife, Donna (Collar) Studer; one son, Dan Studer; three daughters, Susan (Randy) Goldsmith, Sharon (Dave) Wade, and Debra (Jim) McBeath; former wife, Kathryn E. Studer; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Clara (Bruce) Ickes and Sharon (Jeff) Sampsel; ten step grandchildren, twenty four step great grandchildren, three half sisters, Tia Swafford, Pamela Sue (Ed) Smith, and Linda Studer and a half brother, Ron Studer along with his canine companion of 17 years, Scruffy.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Studer and Helen (Studer) Lengler, his stepdad, Lloyd Lengler; brother, Jerry Studer; half brothers, Marty and Donnie Studer; stepmother, Kathy Studer and an infant step grandson, Skylor Goldsmith (McNutt).
A funeral service celebrating Kennys life will be held Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 11am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover with Pastor Clarence Miller and grandson, Mark Leggett officiating. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. At his request, cremation will take place and interment will be held at a later date in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-8pm.
