Kenneth Gene Korns, 59, of North Myrtle Beach, SC, and formerly of Dover, died March 23, 2006.
Born January 13, 1947 in Dover, Kenny was the son of the late John A. & Mary Alesiano Korns.
Many years ago, he was employed by the former Kroger�(TM)s grocery in New Philadelphia as a clerk. He had also owned the former Sylvester�(TM)s Bar in Tuscarawas. Most recently, Kenny had been working in a tobacco retail store.
He was a 1965 graduate of Dover High School who was interested in a variety of crafts as well as painting. In his youth, he enjoyed riding horses.
Kenny proudly served his country in the Army and was a member of the Tuscarawas VFW.
Surviving family members include: two sisters, Linda (Roy) Dessecker of New Philadelphia and Sandy (Richard) Hisrich of Dover; one of his special friends, Jennifer Heathcock of New Philadelphia; nieces and nephews, Linda (John) Welfley, Sherri (Brian) Reamy, Jerry (Cindy) Hisrich, Thad (Pam) Dessecker, Todd (Stacey) Dessecker; several great-nieces and great nephews; and his beloved dog, Buddy.
Kenny�(TM)s body has been cremated. A public memorial service that celebrates his life will be held Saturday, April 15, at 10:30 a.m. in the Holmes United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia. Pastors Dode Overton and Roger Warnes will officiate. His ashes will be buried in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens during ceremony on Wednesday, April 19 at 10:30 a.m.

The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to a memorial fund in Kenny�(TM)s name at First Federal Community Bank, 321 N. Wooster Ave., Dover.
The arrangements are under the care and direction of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover.
