Kevin M. Willis

Kevin M. Willis, 11, of Strasburg died Thursday, April 21, 2005 at Akron Children�(TM)s Hospital following a 14 month battle with Ewing�(TM)s Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. During his struggle, Kevin was an inspiration to his family and friends because he faced each day with courage, strength, and a smile.

A fifth grade student at Strasburg Elementary School, Kevin enjoyed sports. He always liked to play baseball and recently developed a love for basketball. However, due to his illness Kevin�(TM)s ability to participate in these activities became increasingly difficult for him. His other hobbies included riding his 4-wheeler, playing with his dogs Jacee and Angel, as well as, spending time with his friends. Kevin was also a member of Strasburg United Methodist Church.

Born November 21, 1993 in Canton he was the son of Greg L. Willis and Lisa M. Cookson Willis of Strasburg.

Kevin is also survived by two sisters, Emily Willis of Strasburg and Lori Morse of Mesa, AZ; maternal grandmother, Wanda Cookson of Dover; paternal grandmother, Ruth Willis of Columbus; a niece and nephew, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Blythe Willis and his maternal grandfather Richard Cookson.

A celebration of Kevin�(TM)s life will be held on Monday, April 25, 2005 at 2:00 pm in the Strasburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Bruce Hartley officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Friends can call at the Strasburg United Methodist Church on Sunday from 6-8 pm.
