Kim Marie Clay Hoffman Dearth, 62, of Carrollton passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at Akron General Hospital following a sudden illness.
Born on May 26, 1958, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Doris A. (Hawk) Clay. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth L. Frey Jr. and Robert Clay Jr, and several aunts and uncles.
She graduated from Dover High School with the class of 1976. She later graduated from Stark State College. She worked for many years as a survey technician at Hammondtree Associates in North Canton, Dave Bodo Associates in Carrollton, and Akin Land Surveying in Alliance.
In addition to her mother, Doris, she is survived by her husband, Ralph W. Dearth, whom she married on July 9, 2000. She also leaves behind her children; Bobbi Jo Hoffman (companion, Eric Hawkins), Zachary (Becky) Hoffman, and Stacey Hoffman; six grandchildren, Katelyn (Willy), Bronson (Maddison), Michael, Cole, Jaycee, and Ellie; four great-grandchildren; her brother; Scott A. Clay; and she was expecting another grandchild and great-grandchild soon.
Kim loved spending her time outdoors boating, swimming, and going on long drives. More than anything she enjoyed spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren. She also loved dogs and really liked her chihuahua’s.
In honoring Kim’s wishes, cremation has been entrusted with the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. Kim loved animals, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Carrol County Humane Society.
