Larry J.C. Daley, age 92, of Dover, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025, in Dover’s Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital.

Born February 7, 1933, in Roswell, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Delores M. (Fox) Daley. Larry attended grade school in Roswell and graduated from Midvale High School, he then went on to serve honorably with the United States Army in Germany during the Korean War. Larry married Sue E. Vernizzi on June 27, 1975, and the couple shared nearly 48 years together prior to Sue’s passing on April 24, 2023. Larry was employed by Kent State University Tuscarawas Campus for many years as a groundskeeper.

He was a long-time member of Bisel United Methodist Church in Dover. Larry enjoyed the outdoors, particularly trapping and hunting, and belonged to the Tuscarawas County Coonhunters Club for 70 years.

He is survived by his grandchildren, Nicholas R. (Mary) Daley of Massillon, and Rachelle L. (Christopher) Mathias of Dover; his sister-in-law, Lynn (Dale) Vogel of Dover; and his nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents and his wife, Sue, Larry was preceded in death by his son, Larry L. Daley; his sister and brothers, Janis Demattio, Fred and David Daley.

Larry will be cremated through the care of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, and he will be buried privately, with Sue, in Bisel Church Cemetery.
