Larry R. Hobart

Larry R. Hobart, age 79, of Dover, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018, in University Hospital, Cleveland after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Born March 23, 1939, in Dover, he was a son of the late Raymond and Ardath Henninger Hobart. Larry graduated from New Philadelphia High School and was employed by Warner & Swasey Company, and its successor, Gradall, for forty years, retiring in 2000.

He was a member of the First Moravian Church, Dover, and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed the outdoors, particularly boating, fishing, camping and skeet shooting. In later years, Larry liked spending the winter months in Florida.

Survivors include his wife, Adelia Wills Hobart, whom he married on May 26, 1984; his children, Shelly (James M. Via) Rushworth, John Raymond Hobart and Lisa (Joseph) Mirra; his son-in-law, Steve Adams; his step-children, Linda Spring, Stephen Spring and Pamela (Ron) Spring-Feldeisen; his sixteen grandchildren; his great-grandson - and a great-granddaughter expected in December; his siblings, Judy (Robert) Barbee and Tom (Lois) Hobart; his brother-in-law, Doug (Barbara) Wills; and his nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Adams; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert C. and Carol Wills.

A funeral service will be held Monday, November 19, at 11 a.m., in the First Moravian Church, Dover, with Pastor John B. Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Dover Burial Park. Following the committal, there will be a lunch in the church social hall. Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, on Sunday, November 18, 5 – 8 p.m., and on Monday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
