Laura V. Turvey

Laura V. Turvey, 82, of Essex II Care Center in Salem and formerly of Strasburg, died Monday, January 17, 2000 in the center. Born April 19, 1917 in Canton, she was a daughter of the late John & Ida Vorhees Ferguson. She was a member of the Strasburg United Methodist Church, Strasburg AARP, and Tuscarawas County Senior Citizens. Laura was preceded in death by husband Harold Turvey, four brothers and four sisters. Survivors include: 2 sons Alan & Peggy Turvey of North Canton Terry & Marjorie Turvey of Salem 3 granddaughters Tressa (Turvey) Horning of Salem Tarran Turvey of Oxford Heather (Turvey) Cox of Houston, TX 1 grandson Trevor Turvey of Redondo Beach, California 4 great grandchildren Aubrey, Dara & Jared Horning of Salem Camden Cox of Houston, TX Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 20, at 11:00am in the Strasburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Steven Court officiating. Interment will be in the Ft. Laurens Cemetery at Bolivar. Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Strasburg on Wednesday from 6-8pm.
