Lawrence J. “Bud” Neumeyer, 93, of Dover, passed away peacefully, in his home, on Monday, February 7, 2005.
He retired from Prudential Insurance after serving 35 years as an agent for the company.
Born April 20, 1911 at Follansbee, WV, he was the son of the late Lawrence J. and Mary Brown Neumeyer.
Bud was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover and the Knights of Columbus. He honorably served his country in the Navy during World War II and was a member of the Dover VFW.
In his spare time, Bud enjoyed golfing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Bernice G. Rawe Neumeyer, whom he wed on June 12, 1940.
Other survivors include: a son, Robert (Carol) Neumeyer of Dover; a daughter, Nancy (Jerry) Ellsworth of North Canton; a sister, Clara Mae Smith of Steubenville; nine grandchildren, Robert, Krista, Cheryl, Lisa, Susan, Patricia, Amy and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by: a son, James Neumeyer; two brothers, Charles and William Neumeyer; and two sisters, Sarah Ross and Catherine Neumeyer.
In celebration of Bud�(TM)s life, Fr. William Arnold will officiate a funeral mass on Thursday, February 10, at 1:30 p.m. in the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover.
Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral, Dover on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m.
A Christian Wake will be conducted Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
