Lawrence J. "Larry" Kopp Sr.

Lawrence J. “Larry” Kopp Sr., 82, of Dover passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Hennis Care Center in Bolivar.

Born on July 27, 1936 in Sharon Valley, he was the son of the late Samuel and Clara (Dorsey) Kopp. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School. Larry retired in 2003 as a self-employed carpenter and he was the canteen manager for the Bolivar Army Navy Garrison #1982 and the former Dover Army Navy with his companion, Glenna J. Fisher, until a fire destroyed the club in 2005. Glenna preceded him in death on November 5, 2016. He was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters; Loretta Edie, Mary McConnell, Eleanor Tylka, Maxine Basiletti, Marjorie Degan, and James Kopp.

Larry was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover. He was also a member of the Bolivar and Dover Army Navy, Moose, Eagles, VFW, and Elks. He also enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables and was an avid Jass player.

He will be sadly missed by his four sons, Lawrence J. (Lynette) Kopp Jr., Dave E. Kopp, Thomas C. (Lisa) Kopp, Rodney D. (Tammy) Kopp; daughter, Debbie L. (Don) Rosser; three brothers, Samuel L. Kopp, Edward L. (Adrianne) Kopp, Daniel E. (Carol) Kopp; his sister, Carol Brick; brother in-law, Marion Degen; sister in-law, Evy Kopp; his former wife, Beverly Kopp; along with 16 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Larry’s life will take place at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover with Father Jimmy Hatfield officiating on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at 3:00pm. Immediately following the service, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center.
