Lawrence W. ''Jack'' Van Nest, 95, of Dover, died Wednesday, October 3, 2001 in Union Hospital.
He retired in 1970 as Foreman & Welder from B&O Railroad in Dover after 46 years of service.
Born December 10, 1905 in Jackson County, West Virginia, he was son of the late Luther & Anna Belle Black Van Nest.
Jack was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene at New Philadelphia. He had also been a member of Masonic Lodge #59 at Dover and the B&O Railroad Retirees.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Kendle Van Nest, whom he wed April 5, 1951.

Daughter, Debbie Van Nest and son Terry Van Nest both of the home, son, Lawrence ''Doug'' Van Nest of Massillon, 3 step-children, Antoinette Todd of East Sparta, Janet Incarnato of Dover and David Mathews of Dover, 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by a sister and 2 brothers.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 8, at 10:00am in the First Church of the Nazarene at New Philadelphia with Rev. Terry Kidd officiating. Interment will be in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens. Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover on Sunday from 1-3 & 5-7pm.
