Lawrence W. (Larry) Menges, Jr., 59, of 212 Lloyd St. Apt. 5, Dover, Ohio died Friday, December 10, 1999 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton following an extended illness.

Larry was an employee of the former Invincible Vacuum Company at Dover and had previously worked for over 20 years at Sparta Mfg. Company in Columbia.

Born July 26, 1940 in Dover, he was the son of Mary Alice Patterson Menges of Dover and the late Lawrence W. Menges Sr.

He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover, Tuscarawas Central Catholic Booster Club, was a volunteer for the Dover Fire Dept., and loved auto racing and baseball  and enjoyed his grandchildren and traveling.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife Eva Schwartz Menges with whom he celebrated 38 years of marriage on Jan. 13

A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999 at 10:30 AM in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating.  Cremation will follow services with interment in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover.  Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Monday from 5-8 PM with Christian Wake Services Monday at 7:30 PM.  Those unable to attend may sign the on-line register book for Larry by visiting the “on-line obituaries” link on our website at www.tolandherzig.com
