Lester Sundheimer, 88, of Walnut Creek and a former Strasburg resident died Tuesday, December 19, 2000 at Walnut Hills Retirement Center following a brief illness.
He retired in 1974 from New Philadelphia High School where he taught the OWE class for many years.
Born May 11, 1912 in Sugarcreek he was a son of the late John and Sarah Gerber Sundheimer.
Lester was preceded in death by his wife Opal Sundheimer who died on January 6, 1975.
He is survived by a son: Bill and Elizabeth Sundheimer of Canal Fulton
Daughter: Marilyn and Woodrow Winkhart of Norton
Four grandchildren: Loren Sundheimer, Bruce Sundheimer, Kelly Winkhart and Amy
Anderson
Five great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2000 at 1:00 pm in the Ridgecrest Memory Garden at Dover with Rev. Charles Tobias officiating. There are no calling hours. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover is handling arrangements.
