Linus O. Yockey, 81, of Dover, Ohio died Friday, September 24, 2004 in his home following a brief illness.
Born April 19, 1923 in Dover, he was the son of the late Peter and Mary Schmidt Yockey.
Linus graduated in 1941 from Dover High School and remained a loyal fan for years to follow.
He retired in 1981 from Babcock and Wilcox in Canton. He was a member of the Winfield United Methodist Church and the Babcock-Wilcox Retirees Club.
On November 19, 1950, he married the former Marjorie Miller, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Beth Yockey of Reynoldsburg and Shelley (Wes) Luthy of Westerville; along with two grandchildren Logan and Kelsie Luthy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister and three brothers, Talmadge, Adrian, and Lowell.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at 11 am in the Winfield United Methodist Church with Rev. LuAnn Youngman officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park where a reception will follow at the Winfield church. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Monday from 5-8 pm.
