Lois L. Patton

Lois L. Patton, 90, a longtime resident of Strasburg and New Philadelphia, died peacefully Tuesday, December 13, 2005, in the New Dawn Health Care Center.

Born April 22, 1915 in Union County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Charles L. & Icey Parmenter Thompson.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in New Philadelphia where she was active with the clothing benevolence ministry. She had been a member of AARP at Dover.

Lois held a degree from Capital University but chose to devote her life to her family and household and aside from the occasional small job, decided not to work outside of the home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Patton, who died March 29, 1990.

Survivors include: three sons, C. Thomas “Tom” (Pam) Patton of Strasburg, James (Glenda) Patton of Wooster, John (Eileen) Patton of McAllen, TX; two daughters, Joyce (Brock) Barton of Dallas, TX, and Elaine (Tom) Scatizzi of Kansas City, MO; 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice and Mildred.

A funeral service that celebrates her life will be held Saturday, December 17, at 1:30pm in Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover with Pastor Tim Hatfield officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Following the burial, a meal will be served for family and friends in the Church of Christ social hall. Friends may call in the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to either: Church of Christ, 749 Commercial Ave SW, New Philadelphia, or to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W. 3rd St., Dover.
