Lois M. Johnson, 95, of Dover, died Friday, August 25, 2017 in the Community Hospice Truman House.
Born January 27, 1922 in Goshen, she was a daughter of the late Julius and Cora Rausch Winkler. Lois was also preceded in death by her sisters, Maxine Cox and Thelma Douglas.
She was an active member of the First Moravian Church in Dover, Women’s Fellowship, and the Prayer Shawl group. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, sewing, board games and playing cards
A wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, Lois will be sadly missed by her husband, Earl W. Johnson, whom she married on January 25, 1942. Lois and Earl had been boyfriend and girlfriend for 81 years, and husband and wife for 75 ½ years. She is also survived by her children, Robert Johnson of Florida, Steven (Cindy) Johnson of Canton, Sharyn (Jim) Dusenberry of Winfield, Darlene (Jerry) Miller of Arizona; seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
A service celebrating Lois’ life will be held on Tuesday, August 29 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Rev. John Wallace and Rev. Darrell Johnson officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.
