Lois V. Espenschied, 95, of Dover passed away at Park Village Nursing Home on the evening of January 16, 2023.
Lois was born in Baltic in 1927, to C. Eugene and Hilda Regula. In 1948, she married Fred Espenschied who preceded her in death. A son, Mike, a daughter, Sherry (Cheryl), a granddaughter, Kathy, and a grandson, Bobby also preceded her in death.
Lois is survived by her daughters; Sandy Espenschied of Dover, Monie (Roger) Robinson of Dover; her son, Terry (Marcia) of Virginia; her grandsons, Kevin Devore of New Philadelphia, Aaron Espenschied of Virginia; her granddaughter, Marla (Ben) Espenschied of Washington D.C.; great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren also survive. An “adopted” family member, Lance Pennington of Washington DC also grieves; along with one brother, Bill (Pat) Steiner.
Many graduates and brides know Lois because she catered area weddings and graduation parties. She also worked at M & M Market when it was owned by Miceli’s.
Her family wishes to acknowledge and thank nurse, Hillary Campbell and her daughter, Emmalyn for providing such wonderful love and care for the last ten years of her life.
Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory of Dover on Monday, January 23, 2023, from 5-7pm. A celebration of Lois’ life will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 1:00 pm with Pastor Barb Debord officiating. The family will be wearing masks during calling hours and the service and guests can wear them if they choose. Lois will be buried at West Lawn Cemetery in Baltic. Immediately following the service, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover.
