Louis A. Walker

Louis A. Walker, 97, of Bronx, New York and formerly of New Philadelphia passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016.

Louis was born Nov. 13, 1918 to Lewis Walker and Sophia Walker-Watts. He was also preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.

He is survived by his sisters, Wilma Houston and Evangeline Pryor both of New Philadelphia and Evelyn (James) Mills of Dover along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends and his special friend, Katherine Mayfield.

Louis worked as a Pullman on the railroad for many years. He retired as a server and Maitra De from Columbia University. He was a member of St. John Visitation Roman Catholic Church in Bronx, New York and was fond of all types of music, the Arts, traveling and was an avid reader.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 2, 2016 beginning at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover with Fr. Jeff Coning of Sacred Heart Church officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends can call one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
